motivation

where the fuck does it come from? how can people stay at school for like 10 hours a day just studying. to me that shit is real gay. i could never sit down for hours at a time engulfed in books. nah fuck that, i'd rather go home and play sf4. BTW i finally got an arcade stick and i'vve been trying to level up lately which is an excuse for not blogging lately. anyways, how can i strive to do better in school if i have no motivation. how can i get motivated if there isn't anything at the end of my tunnel. i can't see that far, or maybe i haven't seen what i really want yet. oh well, i wish school was like video games then i really would concentrate on them. someone show me the way....

guess who's back? hahaha yes it is i. sorry i haven't been blogging for a while, i like to think that i've been caught up with school and studying, and this week i have been slammed with school work but that's no excuse. anyways i wrote my first midterm today which was scary, but i think i did alright so now i just have to worry about my next psych midterm on friday. so some of you may wonder what is new in my life, and to be perfectly honest, not much at all. nothing ever happens in my life. why can't this be like the movies or tv where going out means meeting someone at a coffee stand (gossip girl) or something along those lines. my life has honestly been really boring for the most part and i haven't done anything new in a while. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. over these past few weeks i have been looking at possible careers and i have decided that i want to be the community manger for a game company like capcom, or blizzard. for those who don't know what a community manager does, basically i would be the middle man between the fans and the company. i take input from the fans by posting on forums, blogs, twitter, and relay that information to the company. sort of like what seth "s-kill" killian does for capcom. for those who don't know him he is the community manager from capcom usa and a former top street fighter player. i assume the overwhelming feedback from the fans pushed capcom to quickly make a sequel which answers the fans wishes. anyways, i have nothing to say for now so i'll leave it at that.

blogging for the sake of blogging

I guess it's been a while since the last blog I posted. I can't really say that I've been busy cause well I really haven't. In the past few days I have been catching up on a lot of sleep. My body just isn't used to waking up at 7 am after half a year waking up whenever I wanted to. But it's for the best really. Just this weekend I found that I can't even sleep in past 10 am now. Anyways, I don't know what to write in this blog, so I will just recap what I did in this past week. Starting with Monday I went to school and actually really don't remember the beginning of week. So fast forward to Wednesday. Class was normal, nothing special but I worked out after school with a friend. While working out we discovered that we needed special memberships to work out during peak hours. So my friend and I went to play basketball for 30 minutes or so then went back to finish our work out. This workout was followed by a long walk to his car in +30 degree weather. When I got home, I took a nap for like 2 hours. In the afternoon, I called my cousin to come hang out which he did, and we had a fire mainly just to burn things. During the fire, I noticed that I couldn't smell the smoke which was odd but I soon forgot about it. Later that day my nose became runny and I was sneezing almost every minute. I realized somehow I got sick. I went to bed early. The next day when I woke up I felt terrible. My arms were sore from working out and my illness had only grown. I spent the day taking naps and watching tv then taking more naps. I don't wanna write anymore so I guess my recap of weekend activities are gonna have to wait. Go watch Entourage!

for those of you who watched the fight last night, thank you for paying mayweather even more money than he needs. for those who didn't watch it, you don't need to. the fight was a one sided bout where mayweather dominated the fight from the first round to the last. there were no really exciting moments in the fight, but as a boxing fan, it was nice to see mayweather back in the sport facing a tough opponent and showing that he's still on top of the sport. mayweather was bigger, stronger, and quicker which was evident in the first round. as expected by me, marquez was knocked down briefly in the second round, but he never went down the rest of the fight. the fight was boxing in its purest form. props to juan manuel marquez who fought his heart out in the fight. he was just not able to penetrate or catch mayweather. as for the future, we have to wait until november when pacquiao will face up against miguel cotto which is sure to be an awesome fight. the winner of that fight should go up against mayweather.

it ends tonight.

it has been long awaited, but the day has finally come. tonight, two warriors will enter the ring and engage in the sweet science that we all know as boxing. floyd mayweather jr, arguably one of the best boxers in our time goes up against a mexican great in juan manuel marquez. this fight, announced the morning of the pacquaio vs, hatton fight was originally set to happen sometime in july, but due to a rib injury, the fight was postponed until now. for those who don't follow boxing, floyd mayweather jr. is considered as a genius of the sport. his defense is amazing, he is quick as lighting, and he has one of of the biggest mouths in boxing. juan manuel marquez on the other hand is a more quiet and reserved boxer. with two controversial fights against the worlds pound for pound number 1 fighter manny pacquaio, and a convincing win over young boxer juan diaz, marquez is out there to prove himself. mayweather being the bigger and quicker man looks to have the advantage at first glance, especially with his 39 - 0 record that he wishes to maintain. will mayweathers break from boxing give him ring rust? or will he jump back into the fight like he never left. or will marquez' counter punching style be enough to penetrate floyds shoulder roll defense. what plans have marquez and his trainers come up with to beat one of the best boxers in the world? whatever they have planned, i will find out tonight.

FADC into Ultra

Some of you may wonder what FADC into Ultra means. Basically FADC stands for focus-attack dash cancel, then you go into Ultra which is another form of the "Super" in the Street Fighter series. With the recent release of Street Fighter 4 on console in February, a relatively unheard of fighting game scene became more mainstream to the general gaming scene. I have sort of become obsessed with the game and just love watching good match videos. I also do play a lot too, I'm not that great at it though and don't play as much as I should to try to get better, but the game never gets old for me. If anyone wants to know more about the SF4 scene as well as the Fighting Game Community here are some links to help you out.

www.sf4answers.com - a neat little site which has a cool feature which shows SF4 tournaments on a world map. You can also submit questions about the game.
www.gytnews.com - awesome website for coverage on most SoCal SF4 events along with Madden events for those who are into that.

16, 17... age is just a number

well well well, i think im going blog crazy right now and i'm pretty sure no one even reads my blog but i'll still write anyways. so anyone that knows me knows that i LOVE disney stars such as miley cyrus and demi lovato. i think ill dedicate this one to demi though cause shes just so cool. so let's begin. demetria devon lovato..... i actually only know that cause of twitter, i actually haven't wikied her yet. WEIRD. for those who don't know her she is the star of Camp Rock, and will be in Camp Rock 2, as well as the star of the show Sonny with a Chance (to be honest i don't really like the show. i like hannah montana and wizards of waverly place WAY better.) she is also a recording artist with an amazing voice and recently released her sophmore album; Here We Go Again.
my personal favourite song on the CD is a song named Catch Me. I'll post a YouTube video at the bottom. other good songs on the album are; here we go again, solo, and everytime you lie along with some her older songs like DON'T FORGET, la la land, the middle and on the line which features the jonas brothers. yes, she has a BOOTY chin hahaha but so what. anyways, she's cool, check her out if you haven't already and if you're on twitter you can follow her @ddlovato.

hahah i don't know how many people remember a group called The Notorious MSG, they are basically an asian rap trio from NY i think and they have been putting out music for quite some time now. unfortunately one of their member (Funky Buddha) passed away and has been replaced by a new guy. I haven't really payed attention to their music recently but i do remember my favourite song by them; Straight out of Canton

day 1

Hello again everyone, actually there are probably like 5 people that will ever read this until I get more followers. Anyways so today was my first day back at school since Centre High in January. Eff that place, it's so dumb there. But yeah, the day started off by me going into class and overhearing some guy say he was getting married soon. Sorta weird but whatever. I soon realized that I was actually in the wrong class. It was embarrassing but I really don't care. I had another scare in my real class when my teacher asked a late student if they were here for Eng 105, funny thing is, is that I'm supposed to be in Eng 102. So I was scared I was in the wrong class again, but it was cleared up minutes later, turns out he was wrong. So enough of the boring stuff. School seems like it's gonna be pretty fun minus all the reading and work. I already have friends that go to the school so I don't really need ot make new ones. I'm sort of excited to see how this year unfolds. I wonder where I will be. Well thats about it for now. So long, farewell, to you my friends, goodbye for now, until we meet again!!!!

So I guess this is where I introduce myself, my name is Robert Melvin Garcia. This is my first blog ever! Well the first one that I'm actually going to really use and post things. Anywho, I am 19 years old and attending Grant MacEwan this fall aka tomorrow :(. While my real name is Robert, people usually just call me Mel, and for those of you who didn't know that, FUCK YOU! hahahaha just keeding. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners in the moonlight, and lonely nights watching romance movies.
